Awesome History Apps

On this page you will find a selection of history iPad Apps (some with reviews) which gave us:.
  1. A lot of information about that time in history.
  2. Made us think carefully about the differences and similarities between our own time and that time in history.
  3. Helped us to better understand the world as it was and the world as it is.
  4. Were entertaining and helped us to understand history in a different way.
If you have used/played a brilliant iPad App which made you think 'Amazamondo, that was fab!' then please let us know so we can include it on this blog page.

Skye's review
I think that this app is good for children our age as it is fun and it teaches you a lot about WW1. It is also easy to follow and it is quite easy to understand. It is also helpful as it has voice recordings if you can't read the text. I recommend this to people from Year 4 ~ Year 7.

Josh's review
I think that it has a lot of information but the problem is that there is a lot which says," Buy for more things" whenever you want to know something important. Even with the free app though it has a lot of information. There is one last thing I would wish to point out. It is very untidy. The area of what you want to find is very hard. It is especially hard when there are videos popping up all the time no matter what you do. So with all of that I will give it 7/10.

Mr Willis's review
I thought the App was useful for the WW2 topic we did in Year 6. It had lot's of content and interesting facts. I also enjoyed looking through the different photos and film from that time. The only aspect which makes it less appealing to Primary School students is the difficulty of the vocabulary - the amount information and detail can be confusing. Overall I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 though!
