Theme Days

The very first Space Day was a real success with the children creating and building their own Moon landers, finding out more about the history of Space from a genuine NASA scientist as well as eating some super Space food.

Here are two videos of SPACE DAY 2017! Enjoy some of the awesome activities, including: trying to get to Wonderania, visiting Wonderania, the Space Race and much, much more!

Egyptian Day is always a popular event in Year 3 with the children learning to: practice and carry out Egyptian dances, mummify bodies, write in Hieroglyphs as well as complete taking part in an Egyptian fashion parade.

It was the very last Roman Day in Year 3 this year as it will be moving to Year 4 from 2017. However, I think it is fair to say that it was a roaring success with all the children enjoying the gladiatorial competition, the Roman recipe making and other Roman activities.

Year 4 had the very great honour of meeting Pericles, who tried to give them a better understanding of what it takes to become a great leader.

This year was the first time Year 5 held Viking Day. As you can see the children thoroughly enjoyed the practical and engaging activities. The Viking videos and obstacle course were particularly successful events from the day.

The Year 5 students had the great misfortune to experience Master Willis's Victorian lesson! Behold true educational misery!

In March 2016, Year 6 held its first ever World War 1 day. Some of the activities included a WW1 Socratic Slam, a genuine WW1 lunch and a skype interview with the author David Hill.

Here is our second World War 1 day (held in March 2017). We changed the activities this year to include sketching, storytelling and PT.
